Victor,
The crop on this chick is extremely distended. More full than it should be. Skip the feeding and wait to see if the crop goes down to empty. The last time you fed this chick did you feed it to the size of the ingather equally it is now? It's very important for the crop to empty before each feeding so yous aren't putting new freshly made formula in a chick that already has formula in the crop. Information technology can result in ingather stasis... slowing downwardly the digestion and leading to a sour ingather or infection.

I would also say... if the crop hasn't gone down past morning I would suggest taking this chick to the vet. Have you been shown how to manus feed? Do you know all well-nigh the correct temperature formula should be... do you take a digital thermometer to brand sure you lot are feeding at the proper temperature? Are y'all syringe feeding? Tell us more virtually your ready for keeping babies warm, type of formula, how you are mixing it.. how oft are you feeding.

The crop hasn't been this total last time I've feed information technology. Too I've fabricated sure to feed information technology asap as warm as I could. I'm syringe feeding information technology and took it from the parents afterwards they tried to impale it.

I try to feed it every 3-4 hours 6 overnight.

And then what you are maxim is the crop wasn't this full in the photo when yous fed it last? Do y'all accept a brooder set upwards with a heating pad assail low under the brooder ( wrapped in a towel to prevent a hot surface from injuring the chick and overheating it). If you have a dissever digital thermometer that y'all set inside to monitor a temp of at least 80-85 degrees to proceed information technology warm would be expert. What are yous keeping as a substrate for information technology to lay on? Are there other chicks?

You will just keep ane side of the bottom of your brooder warm in case the chick gets besides warm it can move away from the heat source. Delight provide more information and a photograph of how you are keeping the chick. What temperature are you feeding the formula at? It should be 102-105 degrees. I fed my babies at 107 degrees Fahrenheit.

I'm new to this and barley know what I'1000 doing, the crop wasn't this total earlier the picture. This was the just chick that hatched but had to be removed as the parents were trying to kill information technology. I only take a modest box with nesting hay and cutting in half makeshift sock blankets. My family unit doesn't have a digital thermometer. I drop some formula on my finger to make sure if it's warm enough, and I make certain to simply keep it in warm areas away from fans, a/c ect. Information technology might not seem like enough but I'm trying the best I can to proceed information technology alive and well.

Does the chick feel warm to the touch when you pick it upwardly? Make certain you don't mash or press on the crop. For some reason the crop may be filling with fluids since you fed it last. It'due south really important for you to keep it warm as well every bit feeding the formula at a correct temperature. If the formula is too cold it will slow down the digestion like I said in my first post. What exactly are you feeding this baby? You may be making the formula too thin. Do yous have a heating pad that you could identify nether your box and cover information technology with a towel to keep it from being too hot for this tiny baby? When did the baby hatch?

Victor,
I did a google search on "air in babe cockatiels crop subsequently feeding" and came up with this web page. Delight read it. It sounds like your baby already has a sour ingather or yeast over growth. There are some instructions by this vet:
My baby cockatiel's crop is inflated and full of air, no food! The baby cockatiel is 9 days onetime and information technology ever wants to
With a little gentle force per unit area and massage from the left side of the crop to the right side of the infant's crop, you should be able to push the air out of the crop, back up through the esophagus.
Nursing a baby through a sour crop takes a lot of nursing care, and the outcome isn't always good.
It'due south one of those things that is best learned side-by-side with the assistance of someone experienced with hand-feeding, every bit many dissimilar complications tin arise.
Your baby is in need of intendance from an experienced veterinarian or aviculturist.

Granted, your baby is much younger than this article simply I hope some of the information is of help to yous. Do every bit I say in keeping this babe warm, try to massage gently to get some of the air out and come across a vet every bit before long as possible. If you can observe a vet in the forenoon I would suggest letting them take care of it until it's weaned. I hope it will make it through this.

Again thank you guys for the advice and I know I seem neglectful only when I saw the surviving babe bruised and bitten I had to take it out or else they would've killed it. I'1000 trying to go at this a mean solar day at a time and nobody else I know doesn't know what to do either.

Will await for your update in the morn Victor. No worries, you lot did a good matter to pull the babe but I do think information technology may be a good thought to let a more experienced person hand feed the little ane for you. Your vet may know of a breeder that can assistance you out. It is a serious state of affairs for this baby to survive. Go along the baby warm, come across if you can follow those directions on massaging the air out to relieve some of the pressure. If it's too overwhelming hold off and get to the vet as soon every bit yous tin can. Thanks for coming to us for some aid. Wish I could do more than...
